Stacey Hitchcock, a proud Taranaki local, brings a wealth of experience to the table. Over the past two decades, she's worn many hats, serving in leadership and governance capacities including serving two terms as a New Plymouth District councillor. More recently, she's channelled her expertise into her own consultancy, where she's delivered strategy, research, and development projects. Her work has ranged from workforce development to project implementation planning, including workforce development for Te Papa Atawhai (DOC).
Currently, Stacey holds the position of Deputy Chief Executive/General Manager of Investment at Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki (VT), the Regional Economic Development Agency. VT seeks to inspire and nurture growth, connect communities, empower individuals, and ignite innovation to sustain and grow Taranaki through lasting development, investment, and opportunity. In Stacey’s role, she's at the forefront of driving economic growth and prosperity for the region across strategic focus areas in energy transition, food and fibre, destination development and visitor futures. She leverages her extensive background to ensure the maximum impact and outcomes for Taranaki are realised.
