Sarah Lucas stood for a community board role because she knows local government can make a big difference in people's lives. She's passionate about making sure everyone's voice is heard when important decisions are made.

Sarah brings a unique perspective to her role, drawing on her background as a child protection social worker, a project coordinator in mental health, and her experiences in developing countries and conflict zones. This diverse experience helps her understand the importance of strong infrastructure and community resilience.

Outside of her local government work, Sarah also runs a business focused on sustainability. She is a firm believer in boosting support for community boards, encouraging more people to get involved, and building partnerships that honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Sarah's goal is to make local government more effective and inclusive for everyone.
