Jean-Luc is the manager of the Natural Hazards Team at the Otago Regional Council. Originally from France, he joined the Council in 2008 where he worked as an investigation engineer mainly focusing on flood hazard characterisation and mapping and flood mitigation. Jean-Luc graduated with a PhD in hydrology from the French Institute of Technology for life, Food and Environmental Sciences in Paris and holds a Master of Engineering in Water Sciences and Environment from the French School of Water and Environment Engineering in Strasbourg. In his current role, Jean-Luc is responsible for the delivery of natural hazards and risks information and for the development and delivery of multi-year natural hazards and climate change adaptation programmes to respond to natural hazards and risks and to build resilience in Otago.
