David Norman is the Chief Economist for Australia and New Zealand at GHD. Previously, he was Chief Economist at Auckland Council, where he provided impartial advice on various issues, including housing, zoning, Easter trading bylaws, development incentives, and COVID recovery.
Before his role at Auckland Council, David held positions as Industry and Regional Economist at Westpac, Senior Economist at BRANZ, Associate Director at PwC, and Economist at BERL. He also spent seven years in Taiwan and China before his economics career. David holds a postgraduate diploma in Management, a BA in Economics and Mandarin Chinese, and a BSc in Genetics and Psychology.
