Andrea is a critical thinker across a broad range of disciplines. Her particular expertise is in financial and economic analysis. She infuses her work with a deep understanding of the interface between the political environment and the public sector. 

Andrea was most recently a senior ministerial advisor to two Cabinet Ministers. She has also been the Independent Advisor for the Tax Working Group and the Policy Director and Economist for the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions. Previously, she led advice at Treasury on the tax work policy programme, where she also managed Budget night legislation, following more than a decade at Inland Revenue advising on tax policy and international tax disputes. 

Andrea drinks tea by the potful, is a yogini, French speaker, dedicated European traveller, and always has a coordinated use of colour in her work outfits.
